MSW 5 Foundation has recently made a gift to the East African Children’s Fund (“EACFund”, www.eacfund.org), a 501 (c) charity focused on developing and implementing food programs for school children in rural Kenya. The gift will specifically be used for the construction of a solar pump water well which will enable the supply of clean water. Access to water in rural communities is essential for basic hygiene and for use in community farming programs that promote food security. This water well – to be constructed in Meru, Kenya – will support EACFund’s community garden programs. These programs support mothers with supplies, know-how, and access to clean water for the operation of small gardens to grow food for their families. By enabling longer-term food security in this way, EACFund’s goal is to jump-start a self-sufficient food support program which will then empower families to encourage and support education for their children. MSW 5 is honored to be part of this mission to alleviate poverty and support education for young children in Kenya.
August 2020
MSW 5 Foundation has made a multi-year commitment to support Education for All Children (“EFAC”, www.educationforallchildren.org), a public charitable foundation that supports education for high potential underprivileged children in Kenya. MSW 5’s contribution will be used by EFAC to establish the MSW 5 Career Development Fund (“Fund”) which will support the creation of a career center (the “Center”) for EFAC sponsored students, alumni, and partners, in Nairobi. Using MSW 5’s anchor gift to the Fund, EFAC will work to generate additional donations to support this endeavor. The Center will be an essential hub to enable EFAC sponsored students, graduates, and alumni to network, participate in job-readiness programs, and build relationships with the corporate sector. The Center will also provide a base for EFAC’s Kenyan team and Advisory Board to hold regular meetings and create a networking space that will further EFAC’s mission to create a sustainable ecosystem that supports education for the underprivileged in Kenya. Moe Walji, MSW 5’s President noted that “economic upliftment through education is one of MSW 5’s fundamental objectives and we are happy to be partnering with EFAC in this regard.”
